The City of Chicago’s Coronavirus COVID-19 Response

As of now the PACK EXPO International and Healthcare Packaging Expo is scheduled for November 8-11, 2020 at McCormick Place, Chicago. As the event’s Official Hotel Reservation Office, Expovision is closely monitoring hotel partners’ COVID-19 response. The PMMI Tradeshow Department is actively working with its city partners to see how the state’s and city’s 5-phase reopen plans could potentially impact the largest packaging expo.

The city of Chicago is diligently following COVID-19 guidelines from the World Health Organization (WHO) and Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This includes Illinois state leaders, the Chicago Convention Bureau, McCormick Place and the Chicago Department of Aviation.

The Hospitality Industry’s New Cleaning Protocols in Response to COVID-19

Expovision has reached out to its hotel partners for the latest information on their cleaning and safety protocols during the coronavirus, COVID-19, pandemic. Hotel scammers, housing pirates, room block poachers…however you refer to them, they have been a major problem in the convention industry for years. These are companies that masquerade as being the official housing partner for an event and sell room blocks that don’t actually exist. Their victims may pay thousands of dollars, only to arrive at the hotel and be told they don’t have a reservation.

Back in 2008, the American Society of Association Executives won a federal lawsuit against the hotel scammer Complete Event Planning, Inc.
