Each of the 35 hotels in the official event hotel block have launched stringent practices that follow guidelines from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Nevada Governor and the city of Las Vegas.

Face coverings that cover the nose, mouth and chin are required in all indoor public areas. The City of Chicago’s Coronavirus COVID-19 Response

On August 5, 2020, PMMI announced that PACK EXPO International 2020 will be a live web-based event: “After thoughtful consultation with the PMMI Board of Directors, PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, has made the difficult decision to cancel its in-person PACK EXPO International and Healthcare Packaging EXPO in Chicago this year.  The PMMI Board determined that due to the evolving COVID-19 pandemic and the current state and local regulations, it was not possible to have a safe and productive event for attendees and exhibitors.” Learn more

The city of Chicago is diligently following COVID-19 guidelines from the World Health Organization (WHO) and Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This includes Illinois state leaders, the Chicago Convention Bureau, McCormick Place and the Chicago Department of Aviation.

On May 13th Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts opened a “Lead with Care” collaboration with Johns Hopkins Medicine International.

Hotel scammers, housing pirates, room block poachers…however you refer to them, they have been a major problem in the convention industry for years. These are companies that masquerade as being the official housing partner for an event and sell room blocks that don’t actually exist. Their victims may pay thousands of dollars, only to arrive at the hotel and be told they don’t have a reservation.

Back in 2008, the American Society of Association Executives won a federal lawsuit against the hotel scammer Complete Event Planning, Inc.
